Shoulder Tire Wear... doh! (pic)
Hmm. (btw, dont know if this should be in suspension cuz of alignment, or wheels and tires)
Am I:
1. Cornering too hard.
2. Under inflated (tires)
3. Severe misalignment?
Here's the thing, I looked at the tires and it looks like the camber is way off, cuz I saw the butterfly effect: // \\
Or at least, I thought I did. I took off the lower rear tie bar and took a look at the LCA bolts point, and it looks like its a bit off, so I adjusted it as best as I can, and now I dont have the lower rear tie bar on... do you think its possible for me to screw up the alignment by somehow, not fitting in the LCA correctly? I dont really see how, since if I get the bolt through the LCA, it should be straight.. or not. *shrug*
It looks more straight now, or it could be the placebo effect, I can't tell. lol. my own eyes are fooling me.
I haven't rotate the tires in about 6-7,000 miles... so it may be time to do that. I'm also going to get some tire pressure gauge and check the inflation level. I'm hoping the alignment isn't off, and I'm just paranoid... alignment cost too much money.
But obvious there's a problem here, I want to have it fix before I slap on some new tires.

Looks like to much Negitive camber.
If it were Underinflated both sholders would be worn and the middle would have more tread. If it were overinflated the center would be more worn then the soulders.
If you were cornering too hard, the outside shoulder would be worn, where as you have the Inside shoulder worn.
alignment should be checked on a regular basis. Most people don't but should.
Every bump you hit has the potential to knock the car out of alignment. and over time the alignment will shift, due to road conditions and tire conditions. Its just one of those things that you need to do.

Negitive camber itself is not really a bad thing, It helps you corner better, but it also eats tires up. For racing its great (Road racing) on a drag car, 0 camber on the front is Preferable. at the autocross track, 2-3 degrees of negitive camber can help greatly.

Whcih LCA bolt did you mess with? Is it the one in the above pic? If so thats to adjust the toe setting. Do you have a heavy load in the trunk? That pic doesnt really look that bad, Ive seen worse. Your struts okay?

I mess with the ones that connects to the subframe.. the ones where you would put on a lower rear tie bar.
I posted this on another forum, and someone suggest that anytime I change anything in the suspension, whether it be springs, shocks, anti-sway bars... I mess with the toe/camber...
so far people suggest that the toe is out bad.. since the car isn't lower, so the camber shouldn't have been effected.
and yeah I didn't mess that bolt in the picture, thats the camber adjustment one I think.
I'm just wondering now if there's any safety issue...
like should I get alignment now or later when I get brand new tires. hmm.

Thats strange then if your all stock and have no extra weight in the rear. How many miles are on your tires? That bolt in the above pic is for toe adjusting. For camber your going to have to buy a kit. If your car is under warranty and you have only a small amount of miles on your tires, I would take it in to your dealer and see what they say.

well, here's the thing.
I got in a rear accident long ago.
it destroyed my rear left suspension.
guess what? that shop obvious didn't bother to do an alignment on the rear.
-_-
I'll have to get it taken care of.
no wonder I feel extra spongyness when I drive in the rain. thats cuz I have no traction!
I would imagine it would be worse upfront...
u should get it aligned grey.

THe shop should have. WHen a does a repair on a car that has Suspension or frame damage they have to do an alignment just to see if they did the repair right. Take it back to them and bitch them out. I would.
I know this because My family has owned/opperated a body shop for 18 years. For every Good Body shop, there are 4 crap ones.

Definitely too much (-) camber from the tire wear.
The important thing is to figure out the cause of the camber. (Blown strut/ bad alignment/ twisted suspension component...)
I would take it back to the shop that fixed your car.

well its been well over a year or two.
heh.
I dont want to take it to them because bitching wont do anything, they'll still do a lousy job.
its hard to find a good body shop.

I'm at 24K miles.
but I'm not sure when it occured... I guess I've been riding on it for maybe 12k miles and not realizing the camber/toe/alignment whatever is off...
just realized it when I did my brakes a week or two ago.
