Factory Alarm/Keyless
I have a 2003 Honda Civic EX Coupe. I have the facrtory alarm/keyless in it now. (I'm waiting for Code Alarm to make the TW-1 with out the starter since i have a stick, anyways...)
I goto lock my car tonight and the keyless is being VERY unresponsive. I hit the button about twenty times before it locks or unlocks and the light on the remote is fine I even tried both remotes. Whats the deal? Its really pissing me off the car is only a couple weeks old.

my remote/alarm has really pissed me off since the day i bought the car. still, i think it's just that i don't know how to use it; there are so many things to know (passive arming, blah blah). just get it checked out. my driver side lock has been screwing up, so i'm just gonna take it to the dealer.
(yeah yeah, i know it wasn't helpful, but i might as well say my complaints, as well) sorry, dude

I dunno but try pressing it firmly and hold it for about a second. My mom's Accord is like that and after a second after I press it, then it would activate/deactivate. Strange how it has that lag time.

First of all, this belongs in the Vehicle Issues and problems forum.
Second, sounds like you have a problem. It should work flawlessly from at least 20ft or so....take it to the dealer.
Are all the doors completely closed when you are using the remote? Exactly what are the circumstances that this problem occurs under?
Lastly, do you know for sure that you got the factory alarm? Was it listed on the sticker or did you have it added? If not, you simply have keyless entry.

You sure you have the crappy Honda Alarm in there. I had just the keyless entry for my car up until a month ago, and I have had my car since May of 01, and mine had no problems at all. Now I have a sweet *** alarm/remote start combo, that also works nice. I would go and have it checked out before you get your alarm put just to see if there isnt anything else that might be screwed up in there, and if it is found that your alarm might have ****ed something up, than you might be in even worse trouble.
