Neons - Cigarette Lighter, wiring,etc
I am wondering how I can get at the cigarette lighter to tap into it, which panels do I remove, and how do I remove them?
I currently have a switch already installed, and I have some neons running off of it, I was wondering if it's okay to run like 5 neons off that switch? Will it have enough power for all the neons?

Alright so I got the cigarette lighter panel off (just took a little muscle), but which wire is the hot one? Yellow or black? Also, I can't get any slack off that wire.. urgh.

I have a switch that was installed by a customs shop, and I was looking to see where they wired it too.. one wire was to ground obviously.. and the other went into where a ton of fuses are.. Under a V with a circle... I'm assuming the V stands for volts, so that's the battery.. I just don't know how he attached it to one of the three little flat sticks that stick out.... so help with that would be appreciated.
Also, since it's wired there, can I still tap in as many times as I want without dimming any lights? When I wired a third rod to the same switch, one of the neon rods didn't light up all the way across the rod, it lit up 3/4 the way across, but then I turned the switch off and then on again and it was fine...
Thx for the help.

if you have light up tester, you should be able to stick it into the plug to determine which is hot... also, i wired mine to my OEM fog light switch... that way i already have a switch to turn them on and off.. also, this has been asked a couple of hundred times, so if you'd search, youd find a ton of information on this... i'm sure someone will rip you a new one eventually about not searching, but i am being nice, so that would be a good option to try next time you are going to ask a question, because more often than not, the question has been asked before, and been answered in a very comprehendable way... and welcome to the site...
OK, the custom shop probably soldered the connection to the fuse box, which shows you probably go to a decent shop....most would just T-Tap a line or something similar. As far as the hot line for your Cig. lighter, it's the yellow. Black is almost ALWAYS a ground, same with brown, and other very dark colors. To gain more wire to work with on the cig lighter, just cut back the loom on it. (black plastic stuff surrounding the wire) I would strongly suggest using a relay though if you are running more than two neons off the line. PM me if you want directions for using a relay.
And the fog lights are an option, they dont come with the cars. You probably dont have them if you dont know where the switch is.

I had my streetglow under car kits neons wirded to my car alarm. I don't have a switch in my car for my neons I use the remote from my alarm. Works great and didn't have to put hole in my dash for the switch.
