wierd noise from engine

i remember awhile back that someone was talking about this whistling type noise coming from their engine (sounds like a helicopter). once my car is good and warmed up and it's idling it makes this noise and i have no clue what it is. could someone tell me if it's a belt and if so which one. i can't hear it when i'm in my car but if the window is down or i'm outside the car it is very noticeable. please help...thanks

Maybe you have a turbo and you don't know it? My car makes a little whistle, but barely noticeable... is it mechanical like a sqeaky bearing or is it airy like from the intake?
