There is a switched power wire on your radio (red I think) that you can splice into for a remote wire.

I used a fuse jumper (like .50 cents) each, it attaches to a fuse (i used the 12V outlet since it's connected to the ignition) and has an area to connect a wire to it. Easy, clean installation

I didnt have to splice any wires just go in with a test light, ground it and find one of the open holes that lights up only when the cars on then your set.

i have an 03 sedan. How do i get behind the lighter to attach my remote wire?
Is there a place under the hood where i can do this also?
Im installing some kind of 1000 watt amp that my friend is giving to me, what gage wire should i use for power?
and what size fuse should i use?
Its a 1000 x4 amp but i only have 2 subs. Can i somehow get it to play 500 X2?
Do i need a cross over, since the amp does not have on built in?

I really appreciate it if someone answers my question, im really new to this and afraid to screw something up. I just cant afford to bring it to proffesionanls, cuzz cash is kinda tight while im in school.

Thanks
