With my JL 12w3, my whole trunk rattles even when I secured my liscense plate to where it won't rattle. I noticed that the problem is that the sheet metal making up the top of the trunk, pulsates as my subwoofer pounds, making a very large rattle. The only way you can get rid of it is to get some type of insulation, like dynamat or fatmat. If I were you anyways, I would go ahead and get this and line your whole trunk. It will help decrease any other rattles in your trunk as well as make your sub go louder to an extent.
