Don't do it.

I went to a body shop to get an estimate on asking how much it would cost me to get either of the two done so I could have the rear of my car as low as it is now, but on 17 inch rims wearing a 215-45-17 tire and he said it can't be done. This is because that fender piece is welded to the frame of the car. (That's why there are ripples on the inner fender piece.) Typically if you chop it off or roll it, you'll weaken the link to the frame and the fender and the bad news pretty much said it shouldn't be done. So I guess the option is to just go with a smaller tire... either 205-45-17 or 215-40-17. Who knows, because of this I might just end up selling my rims.

what kind of drop do you have? i got 205/45/17 with the goldline 1.75" drop and it fits nicely. get some new tires, 215s are too wide imo.

I want to update. I've asked around... and it looks like I should just ask a body shop that has some *****. However, if ANYONE WITH A 7TH GEN CIVIC has done it, please post some details on how you got it done whether you rolled or shaved them.

I want to go as low as possible. My drop is on coilovers and if I were to give you #s, they'd only be the distance from the center hub to the fender well. Nor could I compare the height to aftermarket springs because I'm not familiar with what a drop on springs looks like.

A 215-40 or a 205-45 tire on a 17 will work. Thing is, I don't want a low profile tire from the roads here. I might consider a 205-45 if I can find a picture of someone's rim with that tire size so I can judge.

LoL, what makes you say that? I will say I won't be the first to DO it with a baseball bat. I'd have to see someone do it first.

Otherwise, I may end up doing a DIY for this because I happened to talk to a relative to does body work. We're gonna do it next month. He's done it before.

So you want to shave or roll your fenders, eh?

Do it.

Well, you wouldnt be the first one ever to do it with a baseball bat, but I dont know if any of the 7thgenners here have done it that way. Its definitely not a new process though. I've browsed some other sites before that have mentioned using a bat. If you wanna save some $$$, just look around some different forums. I'm sure you'll find a DIY of it somewhere.

Yeah, seems easy enough to me. You know how those fender rolling thingies work, right? Just rent one or borrow one from a wheel and tire shop and go to work. Heat gun helps too. Just roll and increase the diameter. Roll and increase the diameter. Keep on going and going and rolling and heating and rolling. Then you're basically done. You'll roll that folded edge up into the fender well and then kinda roll the whole fender up and out. It's pretty easy from the looks of it. Metal is flexible enough and I simply don't get why those guys told you it can't be done?

The shop i use has a fender roller machine and the tech said that he would RATHER use a baseball bat. I looked at him like "wtf!". later that day i seen him use this method and it worked well.
