got my 13w7 today (no pics, just words)
well it came today after about a week, i ordered it from onlinecarstereo.com. it doesnt hit the high bass notes real good but it hits the lows real well. it might be because im only givin it about 950 watts. oh i also have a question, my capacitor reads low when the bass hits low, does that mean i need a bigger capacitor? its a 1 farad cap. i like it alot, i just need to make some brackets so it doesnt slide around the trunk. oh and also add a whole bunch of fat mat. EVERYTHING rattles. but oh well im happy.
By high bass notes, do you mean 60 hz, or like, 150 hz? and yes, give it more power....that sub can take twice that power easily....even triple it.
Your voltage is dropping cause you are sucking a hell of a lot of power to move that sub. Get a new battery, upgrade your engine grounds, and that should help the voltage. You can try adding another cap or two, or upgrade to a battcap or a powercore or something....those options might help.

More power isn't the solution.. a better designed enclosure is. As for your cap reading low. That's your voltage dropping. A Bigger cap won't do squat. Bigger wiring and an upgraded alternator will keep your voltage higher. big voltage drops- not enough current.
thanks for the info guys. i know it needs alot more power and eventually it will get it, but for now thats and i can afford. so you think if i get an optima yellow top, upgrade my wires and maybe a bigger cap will do the trick? oh mohawkboom, i built the sealed box to spec by the JL website. so i guess its good enough.

I don't know about a bigger cap...but upgraded wiring and battery did the trick for me My voltage is much more stable then before.
