a couple questions about the B+G coilovers

I can't find definitive answers abotu these coilovers, just comparisons with the Teins so....

Are these complete replacements or do you have to use part of the stock housing like Konis? Do you just take the stock springs/shocks out and put these in???

Also, what is the least amount that these lower? I always hear that they lower more than Tein but does that mean you can only have them really low or can I move it up to like 1" when I need to?

Can anyone rate the quality on these? Are they well worth the price tag of $1000 and I shouldn't ever have a problem with them or will they be like most aftermarket products and only cause problems. The reason I ask is because it seems like all the money I have been spending recently is to fix the problems caused by past mods. I don't want to spend a grand for something that isn't grade A.

Thanks for the help.

Hope I can help ya. The B&G system can pretty much raise your car back up to stock height or slam your car to the ground, so it has much more range than the Teins. Plus the B&Gs are full replacement including the shock and springs. The only thing you need from your stock units is the top hats from the rear and the front to use on top of the B&Gs.

Now that's answers the easy questions. The difficult question is something I can't fully answer for you because you have to make a choice. Are the Teings worth 1000 bucks...Yes, but are the B&Gs worth 1000 bucks...yes too. So how do you choose you might ask. It all depends on what you want and can take. The teins will probably provide you a much more softer ride than B&Gs, but there are some consequences. The consequences are that you will not be able to drop your car as much. People said with the teins all the way down, you will still have a 1 finger gap in the rear with 205/40 tires. So that's an asthetic consequence. Also since the shocks are much more softer and targeted for street use, they will not handle as well as the B&Gs. The B&Gs I have to admit are much more stiffer than I would like, but the handling is unbelievable. The range of height adjustment is a plus, even though I will probably not use it to its maximum. The worst thing about the B&Gs are that it seems from the survey of people on the site that they make noise at times. Not loud, but once in awhile popping and rattling. This does not occur at driving speed, just usually when backing out of a driveway or busting a u-turn. If you can get over the stiff ride and little noise, than the B&G would be choice. I currently have the B&Gs. They are great coilovers, but I think the Teins would have better suited my driving style. The only reason I got the B&Gs is because I got them 4 months before the TEins came out.

Well, it's your choice. Teins=street comfort
B&G=race performance

What DuYaKnow said is right on the money.

My car handles like it's on rails but it's not comfortable if the pavement isn't perfectly free of bumps. I'm used to it though.
