<*<*Major problem with Kaminari side skirts*>*>

I had my kaminari side skirts installed on my civic coupe about 4 months ago(before the dreaded new england winter). Since that time, my sideskirts have warped to the point where they do not fit flush against my door. So bad in fact, that sometimes it makes my door impossible to open because it is getting stuck on the top of the side skirt. Every time I open the door I always hear a click which is the door rubbing against the side skirt. My car is in the body shop right now for the side skirts to get repainted and fitted better, but the guy there tells me he's having alot of trouble with them. Has anyone had a similar problem with theirs? If so how did you make the side skirt fit better agains the body of the car. I was thinking he could put some kind of clips or screws on the top of them to sort of bolt them into the doorsil, but he says the screws will rub against the door. Any suggestions?

i agree, if you bitch to them enough for selling an 'inferior product that does not meet their own standards' , they might even cover you for a new pair..

Epoxy is a glue where you mix two things together to start a chemical reaction that hardens the material. It's useful for situations where the surfaces that you want to glue are somewhat porous. If they're smooth (like the clearcoat and the urethane) then it won't work as well. Your best bet is some kind of glue, or more double sided sticky tapes. What can I say... Two different materials means diffferent rates of expansion. I.E. warpage!

I wonder if the Kaminari urethane is especially not suited to NE weather? Hmm...

Grey- u gotta love this NE winter
SOHC- the guy at the body shop seemed to think mine were molded wrong and lacked another piece that makes connection better.... he was able to fix my problem by adding a simple bracket and some 3M tape. Please don't let this turn you off from the Kaminari skirts, they look so good!
