Hey guys, in a week or so i'm starting my trunk, and since all my amps are gonna be under plexi, I need to ventilate them. I've been researching for a couple weeks, and it seems like a "squirrel cage fan" is the way to go...whisper quiet, and tons of air flow. I'm gonna set it up with a relay that gets tripped by the remote turn on for the amps. Anyway, does anyone know of a place where I can get one for a good price? Audiolink said $50, but I donno if thats high, low, or good?

Thanks,
Mystic

thayre also known as crossflow fans... might be easier to find em that way... but to be honest, just get some computer case fans... a lot cheaper

i don't think you can use computer fans because they are 120V not 12V

nope... everything in a pc runs at 6 and 12 volts (4 i believe also), but computer fans run at 12 volts

Actually the PC AC-DC power supply outputs voltages at 12VDC, 5VDC, and 3.3VDC. All molex connectors (the ones that go into your components contain both 12V and 5V connections. So most likely PC fan is at 12VDC, perfectly compatible for mobile use.

I plan on showing/competing with the vehicle when it's done, so yes, when it's sitting with the stereo off or at low volume with the trunk open, I dont want fan noise in the trunk.
