Revo Technica Short Shifter Rattle Problem Solved!

I bought something called an E-Clip. There were two in the bag for $0.92. The size was 7/8". Although I'm not sure what that refers to? Anyway, who cares! It works. That annoying rattle 'caused by this part...

Has been solved by replacing it with both E-Clips.

They snap right into place and they're very tight. Actually, I tried what would happen without that part in there. You can still shift no problem, it's just that it feels sloppy. With this mod it's super tight! No play at all and no more weird rattle.

I might be offering this with my Revo Technica SS Upgrade kit in the future, so stay tuned...

Yeah, I got them from Lowe's. I have no idea what the 7/8" means? It's not the inner part of the clip 'cause that seems more like 1/2". It's not the outside part of the clip 'cause that's more like 1 and 1/4".

I can offer it seperately for those who already bought my Upgrade Kit, and I can just include it with all upgrade kits in the future. I just have to find a place that sells a lot of them 'cause Lowe's only has 4 left. LOL

last night it snowed like a mother, anyways, I think my shift linkage at the trans was frozen, because some snow had gotten under my hood some how!!! Anyways, when I went to shift it was a lot stiffer until it warmed up, it didn't have as much play either, I hope I didnt screw anything up driving like this, but I had to get to work, but I really like the feeling it had! Maybe there a way to tighten it at the trans or put some washers there to make it tighter or something???

I think that your trans was just much colder, and that caused the difference in shifter behavior

Grey: Does this mod help on stock shifter assemblies too?

Hmm... That's a good idea actually. Doing something with the cables and the attachment points next to the transmition. I could make it super super short throw. Although it might be harder to get it to go into gear. I'll have to think about that. I bet it's possible.

I'm not sure if it would work with the stock shifter assembly. Well, it would fit. I know that. I'm just not sure if the stock shifter assembly has some play in it due to that stock piece of metal? I'm not sure? I would have to say yes though. It would help.

yay! i just finished installing my revo ss with capyoda bushings on my 03 civic. if anyone needs help just email me if u have problems with the armrest like i had. its all good tho now. its a tight as hell shift. no throw at all practically. really gotta jam it in there and u can feel it shifting. i swear it looks the same as the stock, i took pics so i'll show them once i get htem developed. i think the only difference is like the second shifter part on the side. just a little tighter on the sides or something, i thought i had a revo already cuz it looked exactly a like, but its a lot nice now.

E-clips are very common in remote control cars. Obviously, they are not quite that big. Anyhow, a new oe clip from the dealer didn't solve the problem? I need a new one to install with the stock shifter but I'd rather spend one dollar instead of a couple.
