Wing Shaking
I posted this here before but never got a decent response and cant fine the old one so here it goes again. I have a double deck spoiler, fully adjustable. It only uses 1 screw for each base(4 bases) to bolt onto the truck. I put washers and metal braces connecting the front and back screw on each side. It still shakes real bad and has dented my trunk up. If i dont find a way to stop itim notta get a new SPOILER. PLEASE SOMEOE HELP ME. Give me suggestions on how to fix the shaking. Thanx

Before everyone says to just take it off (which I completely agree with), but for the sake of trying to be some help, I'll answer this.
The spoiler is vibrating because turbulent air off the roof is hitting it and the angle of the spoiler is set such that its not smoothing the air out, its just bouncing all over the place. You're going to have to try to adjust the angle and if possible the height to catch the air as it comes off the roof and re direct it properly. That's the only way to fix it. Since I doubt you're going to put it in a wind tunnel, you're just gonna have to do it by trial and error. Set it as flat as you can, then start increasing the angle until it stops vibrating. It'll only work provided the wing is at the right height off the trunk to catch the air. If it's too high, you're kinda screwed... it'll never stop vibrating because it'll be getting the air that goes over the car, and the air off the roofline.

reinforce the area where the mounts of the spoiler meet with the trunk lid..get like large squares of fairly thick metal and sandwich them between the trunk and the bolts. that way it spreads the tension out equally on a larger surface of the trunk lid. makes it more stable

I put washers between the bolts and the trunk but the blots go right through the "braces" in the truck. so only about 1/2 inch of metal to put the washers on to stabalize. Anyone know where to get a kamarani(?spelling?)wong at that bolt onto the sides of the trunk ad does anyone want to buy my wing?LOL.now im wondering how much m,oney is this wing gonna cost me to get my trunk bondo'ed.

you can always cut up a mouse pad and use that between the wing and your dented trunk lid.
In My opinion..double deck wings are not for our cars...in fact no wings
are good for our cars.

Brace the underneath of the mounts(in the trunk) mentioned before. You should have mounted them on the trunk factory braces and set the mounts farther apart. Our cars get stiffer and stiffer with everything we put onto the suspension. Trunk latches help a lot and will stop vibrations esp those with subs. I do had my torsion bars in my trunk and our trunk lids weigh an easy 20 - 30 lbs just to open it. That translates to about 40 - 50 lbs of trunk lid. Isnt the Fiber images trunk weigh 20 lbs? Its a little expensive, though.
Your first and most important problem is IT'S A DOUBLE DECKER WING!!!!! They serve no purpose on our cars and they are ugly as hell. The only cars those belong on and serve a purpose on are drag cars! To solve your problem with the dents, just take the thing off. Go with no spoiler or a mini one from like Wings West or something.

lol, i wish i could go fast enough to fly. I onder what a body shop wpuld charge to respray the truck after i bondo the damn holes up.Oh well.its probally gonna be my $300 dollar mistake.
Do what I'm gonna do, save yourself money and go to the junk yard and find a civic the same color as yours with no wing on it and take the trunk lid off that car and put it on yours, very easy and inexpensive fix.
