Bad clutch? help.

ok
im getting this weird grinding/ rattling sound when i shift from 1-2, 2-3, sometimes 3-4.
it happens when im am near or over 3-4k rpm.

any ideas guys?

hey dude that **** happen to me too i was doing a burn out on 1st and i powershifted to second and i didnt go in and i forced it in and over i was done with the burn out i was driving and when i shifted into second my gears would grid and i took it to honda and they gave me a whole new second gear set but they shouldve but a new tranny ... so take it to the dealer and if they tell u what did u do to it tell them nuthing it just happen ... and the warrenty will cover it thats if u have warrenty still ... im out peace

i have a revo SS. should i take it off?

what mods did you guys have on your car when you took it in?

i dont want them to say they wont do it because its lowered or something.

i would take off the SS if possible. they will try to pin it on anything. give them zero reason to void your warranty. even though they have to prove a part casued the problem, if you are off the basic warranty, and now on the extended, they are going to try and mess with you in everyway possible to avoid paying the damage. thats a $500 tear down fee from honda, and then an investigator will dismantle the tranny and look for signs of abuse. then they charge you like 2 grand for the work. i wouldnt take it to the dealer in this case. go to a small shop. let them tell you. buy a used tranny for 500 bucks spend another 500 to put it in. the parts used in hondas tranny are weak. one or 2 mis shifts and your world comes crashing down.

What you described is a common problem in Hondas that have agressive
drivers. I should know because I am one. Honda knows that the
grinding sound is due to agressive driving. Here is the problem,

you burned the synchros up between the gears. Time for a new transmition. This will only get worse. I was lucky to have the
dealership fix this for me.
