LX to EX front sway bar conversion?

If i just buy the front sway bar off of an EX will it just bolt on or is their modifications that has to be done, so i can fit an HP header and High Flow cat by the sway bar? Also how much will one cost?

Actually...

Here's the LX's front sway bar:

The EX's does look a little different. On Majestic Honda's website it doesn't show it, but the EX's front sway bar has a much bigger center hump for the catalytic converter to fit through. The LX's front sway bar is flatter (as shown in the picture). I just bought the Progress front sway bar for the EX and as you can see...

The shape is rather different. The only way to be 100% positive if it's different is to compare the front sway bar from the LX to a front sway bar from an EX. The part numbers on Majestic Honda's website are different though, so that say something...

Anyway, yes. It'll fit. An EX's front sway bar costs $59.83 + shipping from Majestic Honda (www.hondaautomotiveparts.com).

yeah that would be me....i agree with grey the bar is different in that it has a huge bump for clearing the cat...you'll be able to use your lx/dx endlinks, bushings and bushing holders...the bars just swap out

I did the conversion to my car also but here's what I found out in the process:

I dont know if its the sedan vs. the coupe or the auto vs. the manual because I have a auto sedan, and for some reason I didnt even need to swap out the bar...it was just fine.... Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, it may be fine. It may clear the stock cat and piping. I'll have an aftermarket cat and piping in the future though, so I may need the extra clearance. Don't know for sure, but the extra clearance won't hurt. Plus I think the exhaust vibrates a little when the engine is idling or when wheel hop occurs, so that's when it may move around enough to hit the sway bar.

ok i got the bar in today and will probably install it tomorrow... it doesnt look that different ... maybe like an inch. but i think i remember that the cat only needs about an inch more clearance to fit, so hopefully it will go smooth with no rattles when im done

ok i finally put the sway bar in. i've been really busy with skool and stuff... anyway, the install went fine, it fit perfectly, and cleared the cat with no rubbing or rattling.
