The $1500 question!!!
Aight fellas here's the deal...got a 'O2 Ex coupe......it's basically stock, on the car I gotz the whole OEM kit, the spoiler, and some ill gunmetal housing headlights......the engine is stock. I can't make up my mind I got 1500 I don't know if I should just lower the car and get some ill 18's or if I should just do I/H/E and lower it......i can't make my mind up.....just looking for some opinions....peace!
First don't waste your money on performance parts (unless you just like your car loud and slow), second save your money for a engine swap, third get a bada@# suspension setup. Don't get springs and shocks get a full coilover setup. I promise if you just be a little patient, you will be happy with those two things I mentioned. If you don't do a Type-S swap then do a Si swap it is cheaper, and still going to be quicker.
I have wasted thousands of dollars on my 01 Civic for it to be loud, if I had only been patient and saved I would have a sweet engine and a nice suspension.

The only bolt-on that really gave me any power is the HP Race Header w/high flow cat, I am running a 50 shot of NX. The whole NX system (gen2) and all the gauges cost about $900 with install. The nitrous is fun, but if I would have saved all the money, dropped a k20a in and put a 50 shot on I would be happier. So as we speak I'm saving up for a swap.
Just save up your money.

i was thinking about getting the NX system even though my engine is stock....if all the gauges and stuff cost 900 i would still have 600 and maybe throw on an exhaust.......

Suspension either shocks with springs or fully adjustable coil system like tein suspension after you get that outta the way you can buy rims and have a nice drop or work on the engine

Anyway, my advice is to keep that money in a safe place and read up on everything that you might want to buy. You can find most of the parts for much cheaper if you do your research and shop around. And you can find diagrams to install just about anything yourself. (maybe with the help of a friend or two) Install costs add up quick and can be avoided with a little mechanical skills and online research. But with 1500 bucks you can either go for a decent performance upgrade like I/H/E/50shot..........or go for looks with some nice 18's, yokohama or toyo tires, drop springs, and maybe some tint.
I dont like the idea of putting a different engine in my brand new car. Iv got a project car 87 Nissan Pulsar, I wouldnt mind doing a swap on that but not my daily driver. For my Civic Im going to do custom turbo, but thats far off. If your car is stock there are lots more things I would do first then upgrade HP. That should be last on your agenda, mainly because, what good is power if you have no control, or good tunes for that matter? Besides, compared to all the crappy old cars on the road, and kias our car has decent acceleration.
