sneaky pete NOS nitrous question
hey can i ask u guys something bout nos, i am getting the sneak pete nos, and for engine mods i only got aftermarket intake and dc tcs cat, is that ok for such a small boost, like 1/10 of a second boost. compare to 50 shots its lot smaller, and safety...is it gonna be an issue? do u guysprefer me to get any mods before installing it?
you should do some work on the engine internals. ie. rods pistons valves. and a performace head gasket.
it also would be nice to get a intake manafold. you know some thing not plastic.
you can do it with what you have but it would be a lot safer to upgrade.

Why don't you just get a full nitrous kit? A sneaky pete system just doesn't seem worth the money to me. Oh well its your ride, but yeah you should be fine as fas as engine tolerence. Some a running 50's with the same thing. I'm not too sure if a sneaky pete application is even available for our cars. I thought they were like placed above carbs on like old muscle cars. I don't really know how it works on fuel injected car.

you can run sneaky pete with completley stock internals. its a very very small shot. it'll feel like a i-VTEC when it activates. its safe to activate in 1st also. my friend put it on his stock 00 civic dx and it felt like a VTEC kicking in.

yes if you go 50 shot you should modify your ignition and fuel system. a general rule for determining which size shot to use is 40%-50% of the engine's factory horsepower rating.
forged aluminum pistons are one of the best modifications you can make. retard ignition timing by 4-8 degrees (1 to 11/2 degrees timing retard per 50 H.P. gain) <-----i read that somewhere and i'm not to sure about that fact, anyone can help me out?. spark plugs would also be a good idea in upgrading.

i know its kinda waste of money, but think about how much money a person have to spend on mods preping for 50shots+, like i said i dont squeeze everyday...i just want it there and be prepared
OK, I have a 50 shot on my miata with a 108,000 miles on a stock motor and a rear main seal leak and it is just fine. So running a sneaky pete system will not hurt your car. Like the rest of them said it is better to be on the safe side and forge your pistons and stuff but that is for a 75 shot and above. Also it is recommended to get colder plugs and run 92 or higher octan gas. Me personally I dont run colder plugs just the higher octan gas. When I get my turbo in I am defentily going to rework the motor so I dont blow anything. But if you are gonna run a sneaky pete system you are fine, just run a higher octan gas and you will be fine but if you want to be on the safe side just get colder plugs.
