suspension vs rims/tires
suspension vs rims/tires
see as how christmas is tomorrow
... i was wondering if there was a better order to do things?
can i lower my car first then put on rims and tires,
or should i get the rims and tires first then lower my car?
or does it not make any difference...
also, has anyone heard any more news on those tokicos that should be out soon?

doesnt really matter.. i would try to have an idea of what you want the car to look like tho... do you like the slammed look or are you just looking to kill the gap? 17s or 18s? there's pros and cons to both things... get rims first and if they're too small your going to have to drop the car alot to kill the gap, get big tires and you'll kill the gap with a small drop but your car will still be too high. get a too low of a drop and you wont be able to fit bigger tires for more wheel protection/comfort, go with too high of a drop and your car looks stock.
i lowered my car before i got my rims due to funds...

tokicos should be out in march
? i think...thats what i'm planning on getting....i'm gonna call them thursday and ask then i'll post an update.
i say get rims then see how low you wanna go with them on.
so rims/tires then drop...that is a must.

Rims without drop doesnt look good IMO, i say get the drop first. But make sure it won't rub continuously if you will be driving a lot. I'd reccomend Neuspeed or H&R sports for 17's any anything bigger and Neuspeed or H&R Race for anything smaller than 16's on there

no, rims then drop trust me, you can get a better look at how low you wanna go. a drop with hubbies doesn't look good either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for rims... i was planning on getting 215/40/17
that seems to be a pretty basic/average size
if anything i would go smaller
i wanted to get neuspeed race springs and i didnt think it would rub
knowing all of that... it would be ok to drop my car first right?
keep me updated about those tokicos
o ya... on that wheel size site thing in the sticky at the top
i think 215/40/17 was pretty close to stock size...
so if it fit wit my stock tires... then it would fit with my aftermarket ones

One thing that I would consider is this... I have 215/45-17's with a 45 offset. In front they go on no problem. In back they're kinda weird. I can put them on, but I can't seet them all the way without touching the sidewall to the back panel that protects the shocks and springs. Now, if you had lowered your car first, the shocks and springs wouldn't lower down as much when you jack it up. This means that putting on wheels and taking them off is a lot easier.
You can still do it, but you end up rubbing off the rubberized undercoating. What I did to remedy this was to jack up the car in back by jacking up under the lower control arms. There's these flat spots that can take the weight of the car no problem. I use the little spare jack and it fits into there perfectly. Then the wheel doesn't drop down, but still lifts up off the ground. I can then take it off and put it on without scraping that undercoating. Plus seating the rim is perfect.
Just something to consider if you're going to be taking off your wheels and putting them back on a lot.

I second that motion. Figure out a way to lower my back end with the FLEX. I'll post pics later this week.

.. i have to get back in that "zone" cause i havnt really been in the posting mood lately... im driving around now without a front sway bar because i installed my hp racing header tonight.
hondawerx still hasnt gotten me my replacement ... its been over a month now ... but that's a different story.
i didn't really feel much of a difference in handling while driving on the street. i am kind of suprised how little a difference a front sway bar really makes ... but then again im not autocrossin or anythin.
