My 6th gen vs. Lancer
Yes, it was a battle of the slow cars, but I was up to the challenge! lol
Since this forum just sprang up, I thought I might throw in my last encounter...Two buddies and I are heading down to a wedding when a Mitsubishi Lancer comes flying in the left lane next to me. Immediately identifying rice (he had a huge green neon in the back flashing to his subs), I decided to catch up to him and see what's up...I manage to pass him and get in front of him which he didn't like, because he started tailgating me, and this is where the fun begins.
Knowing that the Lancer is pretty slow in it's own right, I figured this was an ES or something like it since he wasn't fast in accelerating. Then again my DX has 106hp, but I since he was tailgating me, I figured why the heck not? So I dropped into 3rd and proceeded to pull away. When he got the hint to what was going on, he came back eventually, and thus began the game. No matter what he did, I would pick the faster lane if we were in traffic. Mind you, there was little traffic, and most of this took place on or around the proper speed limit. I just kept my cool till there was a full break in between groups of traffic.
Finally I had enough of him crawling up my butt so I downshifted again and pulled all the way away till the next group of cars. There, I slowed down on approach, and proceeded to stay somewhat side by side with another car in his lane. I accelerated past that car and flashed my hazards to say okay, that's enough. He responded with flashing his, and we were done. The only time I really went above the speed limit was in between groups of cars where there was nothing ahead for a long time...the Lancer never really caught up, despite all his trying...maybe he was driving and automatic? Oh well...
The cool part was afterwards, he was helping me - every time I signalled to move into a different lane, he'd get over first and slow down so I had room to get over. I guess he figured if he couldn't beat me, might as well join me lol

Rep Power: 0 I had a choice between a Lancer OZ and a Vic EX. I kinda regret my choice though. I love my civic, but the Lancers are just so beautiful... Especially when you tint those things. drool... haha

Rep Power: 0 lol yeah that was pretty nice of him, considering what he could've done...of course, I just experienced that last night...Some truck behind me had his brights on, so I tapped my breaks a couple times and hit my hazards - he thought it was a challenge and blew past me, throwing on his hazards like he won lol - I wasn't even racing, I just wanted him to turn his damn lights off!
