drifting a 2k2 civic with stock sway bars

holly SH*T :
My friend and I just got done washing my car at a dealership he works at and I said I know some roads arould here that are great to speed on, He said alright and we where on our way. ( this place is like a car guys dream it carve as heck and cops don't hang around there alot ) one of the roads back there loops the whole place with long strate away and two turns that I like to call half a circle ( it's really just a 90C turn that arounded off ) but anyways I alway take the frist turn at 50 with racing lines but my friend said what would happen if you just took it normel, Im alway up for trying something new so I said why not. half way though the turn and the tires were screeching then we started drifting I was like holly sh*t but I still wanted to ride it out and I know how to drift because my brother show me how during the summer, all and all I think I pull it off pretty good for being in a front wheel drive car.
one of my friends has a perlude and he did the same thing at the same place but alittle better so that basicly how I got the idea, if anyone has a story like mine I would really like to hear it.

yeah man...drifting is awesome...nothinglike busting out a drift right after watching an OPTION video....lol anyways I drift occasionally when theres an empty parking lot and specially if its a lil wet out its like the best feeling when youre sliding sideways and have to look through the passenger window to see where the car is goin....lol

When you guys drift, do you pull the handbrake? Or just brake and steer simultaneously?

sometimes to induce a slide you have to lock up the rear by lightly pulling on the E-brake....it's kinda hard trying to induce lift-throttle oversteer with the car and still maintain control...I know from trying several times but usually all you need to do is jerk the car sideways in the direction of the corner and slightly pull the e-brake up as you aproach the entry point. then the rear end slides out and you mash the throttlein first or second depending how fast you go as you countersteer to keep the car sliding forward.

Never actually managed to get my civic to "drift" as you call it, even though what you were doing is not truly drifting, just power sliding your back end around a corner. True drifts are controlled sliding of your rear axle around a multiple of corners (2 or more) or around a 3/4 corner (between 180 and 270 degrees). Dont get me wrong, what your doing sounds like a blast in a fwd car but i would probably freak if i didnt have any real control of my car around the turn. Ive had my 350z for a week and already started praciting low speed power slides around one way corners in the industrial park here to get a feel for my car (totally different from my friends 240sx) I havent needed the e-brake once yet, the car just has enough torque to kick itself around the corner and i havent even pushed the rpms over the "safe" range for during my break in period. All i know is this car is going to be a beast in the spring and i am going to dedicate every moment of free time becoming one with my car and its capabilities.

no no, you guys got it all wrong. I just took a turn really fast and it slided out on me there was no E-break slid or anything that why I said holly sh*t, I wasn't planning for it to slid like that.
