if you had the money, sure

If you wanna be realistic, no. It's rear wheel drive. That would make the swap extremely difficult. I don't even think it'll fit in our engine bay

i know it'd be very hard to do, but could people mention what exactly would need to be changed exactly to do it?

besides magically fitting the engine in our bay, i mean other things. driveshaft, disc brakes in back instead of our shitty drums, etc. i'm just curious about the fwd to rwd conversion

edit: and as far as electronic wiring changes (e.g. ecu), what exactly would have to be tweaked?

I don't think it would fit myself but would be sweet if someone really did it

its not about size. you will spend more then what the engine cost just to install the damn thing.

you'd have to make a drive shaft tunnel and mod the undercarraige for the tranny, the shifter might be in the back seat too... but that's workable if you pull the firewall back about 10 inches.

Like i said, WAY more trouble/money then its worth.

i never thought about the shifter location, what an accomplishment if someone did that to a civic and at the same time what a money pit too

Very possibly CAN be done. As a matter of fact i think HASPORT is making mounts to do the swap in a RSX. Which in turn leads to the swap done in our cars. This swap would need the RSX tranny to work though and i think it is very worth the money ... a JDM ITR K20 motor would run you about twice as much. The motor would sit a little high too so some kinda mod would have to be done to the hood. Any aurguements?

That was part of a question in Import Magazine, they said the S2000 engine will not fit into any other car. Its such a cool engine though!

An F20 can be mated to a K20 tranny with some modification to the bell end of the tranny. A shop in California shoved one into a Lotus this way. Converting it to FWD would be possible, fitting it in is another. There's no way you can fit the F20 in a Civic and run it RWD... unless you move the controls to the back seat, or maybe the trunk. And you'd need so much suspension work (converting the rear to a drive axle) that you might as well just buy the S2K
