Car won't start up when..............

Hi guyz, was up.

Okay, here we go. I had this problem in the past couple of week, I'm getting it check out on Monday and just want to know what you guyz think.
When ever I put gas on my car. I could not start up my car, (it sounds funny but it is turth) it will on start when I turn the key to start and hit the gas pattle. I was wonder what is wrong? Could it be the fuel rail?

Thx

Well it might not be a good idea to put gas on your car unless you just want a new one anyway. Oh and where is the gas pattle. Nah, just play'n. That is weird though. I dont want to get flamed for this one because it is my opinion but i think it is the fuel pump. Just an opinion, if i'm wrong dont start the hate child.

usually you DON'T step on the gas pedal to start a car, b/c of the fuel injection system and computer reads the engine temp to send the correct amt of fuel to start the car.

i had to do it with my old beater, 89 corolla gts, especially in the winter

one problem: did u ever just step on the gas pedal when it was just parked? b/c stepping on the gas pedal opens the throttle body when, i think, the computer wants it closed.

my guess: its the fuel injection system. it could clogged. but don't add additives/cleaners yet. wait till you get to the dealer.

What about trouble codes? Hmm, I don't think I know how to do this in our cars yet. I think I'll check that out. Anyone know if you can hook up a volt meter or something and read the codes from the engine computer?? If you can read the codes they'll probably tell you something.

I think two people put diesel in their cars. I thought that was in a thread

As for putting gas on your car... that won't fill up the tank and can get pretty costly when you are sitting there with a tank on E and gas all over your car.

Try this if you don't already do it... turn your key to the ON position... wait 3 seconds (i think it allows your oil pressue to build up) or till you hear a click and see your gauges go up, and then turn your key to START and start her up. Just a thought though. That most likely isn't your problem but it seems like you are experiencing that kind of start.

I know on a lot of cars you can check your engine codes on the ECU by turning a slot on the ecu to the opposite direction with the key in the on position and reading the blinks from the check engine light. I haven't looked at our computer yet. The only thing is when you use that slot you have to break a seal and it will void the warranty on it. I used that way to check my code on my altima also I used it to reset my check engine light when I traded in my car

how would leaving the key in the on position build up oil pressure....do we have some kind of new fangle electric oil pump???

As for your problem...I don't know, but don't try anything till after you go to the dealer, is it still under warranty?

I've been having a "no-start" problem intermittenly for as long as I have owned my Civic. Check this: next time you start you car and it fails, see if the little green "starter disable" key is blinking. That is what is wrong with mine. The anti-theft device is working a little TOO good. I need to find time to bring all my keys to the dealership and have them reprogram the keys. Unfortunately, in the past 9 months there wasn't a time where I had free time AND all the keys on me at the same time!

I hope this kinda helps!
