HORRIBLE BRAKING SOUND

Greetings to all my daily drivers,

I have a sedan (DX) model...and everytime I step on the brake, it sounds like the front brakes are squeeking...and since I don't think there planning to make big brake kits for the DX model I thought what if I replace the bbrake pads with high performance brake pads? would that elimate that sound?

Has this happen to anybody else??

How many miles do you have on them? Get some Performance Friction pads and put some grease on the back of the pad where it clamps into the caliper.

I am having the same problem with my brakes. My civic has about 23k miles on it and it starting making this horrible grinding sound when I would apply the brakes in addition to the normal squeaking caused by the clips that they put in the brake pads. I just changed out the brake pads last weekend to the EBC Greenstuff pads. What's pi$$ing me off is I'm still getting the same d@mn sound minus the squeaking.

Anyone have any ideas?

Make sure you have your rotors turned, (resurfaced) anytime you replace the pads. Also buy a can of disc brake quiet at the parts store and spray the back of the pads throughly. Plus and this is VERY IMPORTANT!! make sure you don't get any grease or dirt or anything like that on the pads or rotors, if you do spray them with disc brake cleaner and wipe off the remaining dirt with a clean paper towel. Back in the day when I was a mechanic I never had a problem with brakes sqeeking because i did the above things, I must have done over 500 brake jobs in my lifetime.

See, I did ALL that. And I'm not getting the squeaking noise anymore, just this rediculously loud groaning or grinding sound. I'm completely at a loss. I've done all the brake work myself on my 3 previous vehicles and never had a problem.

i get that too, i've had it since around 6k miles and i'm at 8k now. it's cause our factory brakes suck. i plan on upgrading to drilled/slotted rotors and EBC or AEM pads. it'll cost like $100 something, but it's better than having them replaced under warranty with the same crappy brakes
