ak can only hope to improve
Starting bid $20...wow. Pretty cheap IMO.

Maybe he tried putting indiglow gauges and the needles need calibration.

This would be bad if you did this as your odometer would not be reading 'true' mileage. If you were replacing your gauges, you'd have to have the dealer write down the mileage and stick it in your car on the door jam. I'm pretty sure this would also deduct from your trade-in value too.

IDQcivic should not be trusted
The ECU keeps track of the milage, if you switch the gauges it will read the same reading since we have digital odometers. If you had an old style gauge then I could see where you are coming from.....

I think there is some sort of backup system for the mileage. But I'm not positive.

the ecu doesn't completely keep track of the odometer. trust me, i've plugged in another cluster to check the mileage of it and it reads a different mileage that is not of mine.

you can retain the 'orginal' mileage of your car when swapping cluster by buying one that has a higher mileage than your current one. when your car reaches the exact same mileage of the new cluster that's when you do the swap.

If memory serves me correctly, this is not true. When the 2k1s came out, there was quite a problem with the gas gauge on the clusters. Well, Honda was replacing the whole cluster and the odometer was reset back to 0. I believe the part about the ECU keeping the milage though, it just won't display on the cluster.

When you sell the car, just don't certify the mileage. I think there's a box on the form that says "I don't know if this is true mileage". Of course that may vary from state to state.
