225/40 on 17 x 7 fit our Civics?
I'm no expert which is why I'm asking, excuse me if some of this sounds funky.... Well I was thinking about getting 225/40 b/c
1: The sidewalls are bigger right? but not just as tall as 45 series tire...
2: Fatter tires are better for cornering? (I dont race that much, just enjoy the drive...)
So will they fit our cars without having to roll the fenders? Or is it a little too fat.... I have 17 x 7 wheels with Neuspeed Sport drop.... (1.75f 1.5r)
Thanx guys...

I could be wrong, but pickings may be slim for 225/40-17 tires. I checked tire.com and tirerack.com and they only listed Nitto as carrying that size. The 225s will fit a 7 inch wide rim, but I would definiately do some research on the tread width to ensure there would be no rubbing.

yeah, 215/40 sounds pretty good... I think that 225 is a little too wide and I'll rub if I had a few passengers in the back. Thanx guys. I just got my car broken into, so I'm still a little discouraged as to making any more mods onto my car. I think I'm taking my rims off and going back to stock for now, until I wear those out~Just to be safe even though I have wheel locks...
