Just installed Revo Short Shifter

Like the title says, I just installed this yesterday. A very worthwhile mod in my opinion, but it seems as though it's a little more difficult shifting into reverse. Is this normal? Is it just the fact that it's new and needs broken in to loosen up the new positioning of the transmission lines? Insight is much appreciated.

I don't mean about the syncros not lining up; I know to shift to 4th and then to reverse for that. This is more like the shifter has become so stiff it almost doesn't want to move over. It'll go over, but I just wanted to know if this was par for the course right after installing it.

i know what you are talking about. i noticed the same thing. 1-5 is just as easy as before, just a little stiffer. but reverse, you really gotta muscle it in there. i suppose this is normal.

whats this about shifting into 4th then reverse? never heard of that before. and what about lining up the syncros?
some feedback on that would be great.

thanks.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this. I thought I didn't hook all the cables back up right or something to that affect.

About shifting to 4th and then reverse, I don't know if you ever noticed it before with your stock shifter or your short shifter, but sometimes after driving in a forward gear for a period of time you wouldn't be able to shift into reverse. The gears are simply just not lined up properly and need to spin a little bit in order to fit into the reverse gear. Sometimes you can only engage reverse halfway, other times you can't engage it at all. Usually shifting to 4th and then to reverse helps this. It's a pretty standard thing on manual transmissions. Some people also experience it shifting to 1st occassionally.
