I backed into a truck in my driveway today. I was pulling out of the garage and totally forgot it was there. Since there usually never is anything there. Anyways, the question is.........Do I have to get a whole new bumper or is there any way to fix it? It didn't dent anywhere, it just scratched off the paint at the top of the bumper where it starts to round. you should have your driver's liscence taken away is what you should do. I hate that this country gives people the right to drive on public roads when they show such idiocy.

eheh now that I've gotten that out.....uh I would take it to the shop and have it repainted if theres nothing but mild to superficial scratches.

My civ was keyed back at the school lot a year and a half ago. Take it in, they can fix 'er right up, good as new...The scratches on mine even went into the plastic...they got it all filled and you can't tell that they did any work to it :-D

As for backing up and hitting sh|t...A couple of my friends and I went home for the weekend...as he backed out, he ran into the fire hydrant...So, I'm walking to the door to unlock it and go in...and all of a sudden I hear this metal clink/bang sound....Sure enough, he had backed his cherokee right into the damned hydrant...he didn't care. HE has a metal bumper and it was scratched to begin with, so he decided to say fvck it and leave...quite funny.

you can get it repainted. it wont cost that much or you can always get a full body kit.

you could spraypaint it... if you're a DIY'er, a good wet sanding with some spraypaint and clearcoat would fix it right up for under 20 bucks

i feel you man, two years ago I backed my jeep into my brother's del sol in the driveway. 1500 in damage. Then again my jeep had was lifted and i couldn't see the del sol out the back window.... haha

Relax man. He has a point. You did something stupid. Most of us have scratched or dented our cars because of doing something stupid. It's not a big deal. Just get it fixed, learn from your mistake, and move on. Be grown up enough to admit your faults, and be mature enough to learn from the mistakes they create.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha...I drove my car into my garage door because usually when i press the "OPEN" button it opens. I can drive with my eyes closed because whenever I press the "OPEN" button it opens that means the door has gone up and I can drive in. But this time it didnt open and my eyes were closed because im such a good driver and whenever i press the "OPEN" button the door opens. I drove into the closed garage door because it didn't open when i pressed the "OPEN" button.............i can go on and on forever. Look every time you back out or do anything, next time the mailman could be walking behind your car, or someone else. try to explain yourself in court after that one. well. just for kicks...

he didn't do it on public roads as whitericeboi seems so intent on pointing out..

this probably happened cuz he's at home, and he's too use to it. I'm sure he's more careful on the road.

in either case, I did the same thing. scratched my paint a bit, didn't care though. forgot to check the left and my sister had her car parked too close int he middle... (center rear view mirror shows all good, sames goes for right mirror) so which idiot didn't check their left mirror? me.

well I'm more careful now... live and learn.

Okay.... I was at a friends house last night and he has a really steep driveway. I had had a little to drink but I had to go move my car so somebody could get out. Anyways, I backed up but the driveway was too steep in the spot that I backed up and all I could hear was loud scratching. I pulled back forward really quick and got out to look at what I did and the bottom of the back bumper was scratched to crap. I wanted to cry.
