Speed traps and poopy (oh, I mean wonderful) cops...
So here's what happened this afternoon. I work on a navy base, and there's only one road to get in/out (it's fairly long, about 2 miles). The road goes like so. There's a long stretch of road, then a little 'village' type thing, then some more open road before you get to base. So as I was leaving base I saw a cop on the side of the road just before you get to the village (if your heading toward base). He was clocking people and waving down any speeders to ticket them. So here's the thing about cops around here. Most of the police cars are not regular Crown Vic/Impala type things that I normally see. They are SUVs or Mustangs and the like. This one happened to be an SUV (an Isuzu Axiom, I believe). On the way back (about 20 minutes later), I knew he was still there so I didn't go flying down the road. But what I noticed from the other way was with his back end open, you couldn't see the flashy coppy thingy on the top (it's one of those small little cylinder type magnetized thingies). Now, I have the upmost respect for cops, but that just seems like a mischievious way to catch someone.
The motorcycle cops around town here are really sneaky. There's one street that people park up and down the curb on, and they hide inbetween the cars. Also the street I work on is in a commercial section with lots of driveways that the motor cops hide in.
I just set my cruise control 5mph over the limit on most surface streets now. Freeways are a different story though.

Oh, and also the CHP now had whtie Cameros with clear, low profile light bars on top. Pretty hard to spot. Yet another car to look out for now.
Imagine this setup...
You have two squads. One sits on one side of the road, the other on the other side. One sits so only one side of traffic can see him, the other so the other side of traffic can see him. They would sit there like that all the time and catch all sorts of crazy people. Because as soon as you were pass the one, you were thinking, Yeah, there is a wall and he can't see me so you would step on it. Here comes police officer number 2. Either direction they gotcha. Great setup. See below.
I hated this setup.

The Indiana State Police has unmarked Camaros in every production color. And whats's real bad is that some of them are set up like teenagers cars. Tinted windows, rims, I even saw one with a Oakley sticker in the back window. They're sneaky as hell.

Well a police officer can use any means necessary to issue a citation, even though I rarely use these sort of sneaky methods.
LOL its so hlarious he always defends a cops right to be a total beetch and then cleanses himself of any guilt of such an act.

yeah, cops are getting sneaky. They have been using ford F-150's here in houston for a few months, and they are very hard to spot, because the light assembly is tucked away inside the brush guard.
I wish they would make some sort of law limiting police from using unmarked vehicles for traffic stops... seems a little shady, but then again, we ARE talking about cops.

on the weekend i saw a cop in a ford windstar pull over some guys! the van had crazy flashers cause i guess some people don't take it seriously when they get cherried by a mom's minivan.

Around here I have seen cops using lots of unmarked cars. For example green Malibu, red Camaro SS, black Explorer. They have like a flip thing inside their cars that they can just flip and down comes the red and blue lights. For example you are going down the highway, and there is a regular malibu behind you, with no markings at all an no lights, and no one else in front, so you start to speed. and he just flips a pad they have on the top of their car from the inside and down comes the lights.

Around here where I live. A small city between Dallas and Ft. Worth. The cops get to choose the car they want to patrol in as long as they are american made and they can make the setup how ever they want. The most popular around here are unmarked vettes, and there is one saleen. It kinda sucks cause the cops here have something new to where they can hide the lights in the and don't have any on top of the cars so u have no clue that it is a cop except for the license plates.
