Difference b/w $20 tie bars and DC ?

Well, can anyone list some reasons why spending about 5 times as much on a DC strut or tie bar would be better than buying a $20 generic one on ebay? Besides the fact that generic brand bars dont fit over our intakes.

some people buy it for the name, u know like buyin acura over honda, or lincoln over ford. i believe that most DC parts are a little over priced, except maybe exhaust components, my cat back was competitively priced to other big brands.

the generic ones tend to break easily compared to the dc...

Do you have proof of this? Or are you just assuming? Just curious...

A lot of people say PIAA lightbulbs are good because they are expensive and big time name brand... when in reality, in lab testings, they are actually a lot dimmer than stock bulbs, or cheaper bulbs offered by Philips or Sylvannia..

umm.. in terms of design, the DC and generic ones are VERY similar... they both have pivot points..

compare DC with other BETTER CHEAPER brand name (ie: NEUSPEED) and compare NEUSPEED with generic bars.. NEUSPEED WORKS a ton load better.

DC's stuff is definitely more quality than generic stuff.. but I think they're major rip off stuffs... for a company that has suspension components... they sure limit themselves with just chassis stiffening... why can't they do some springs? or some coilovers? or some sway bars?

DC's stuff is all show to me, their strut/tie bars are especially like that... I mean, 150+ for a strut bar? Might as well pay for a mugen bar!!

their exhaust system and header system are probably better... but STILL very much overpriced.

no thanks. I'd rather get stuff that other people in other countries have heard of.

u know how many American import aftermarket manufactures are known in other countries? Not many. K&N is one of the few...
DC? huh? APC? you're kidding me.

The DC bar is more for looks. They drilled frickin' holes in the damn thing. It looks good, but when they thin the material out by drilling holes in it, it creates weak points in the bar and it actually can bend. In addition to that, it's hinged, more points for movement. The Neuspeed bar is a far better design with multiple attachment points, and no hinges.

yea the DC is for looks but the purpose of the holes are to reduce weight to the bar...since its already tested for flex and bend the holes are fine...to me cheap or expensive...as long as it works..its good for me....i bought a rear upper strut bar from ebay and im very happy with it along with the tons of money i paid for the DC front strut and rear lower tie......it worked out for me...

One thing is evident from looking at the design of the DC Sports tie bar; it sucks! The one they sell on Ebay is superior in design. I had the DC Sports rear lower tie bar and I sold it because it was an inferior design. I'll be getting the Progress Group's rear sway bar, which has an integrated tie bar design.
