Help!!

Here goes...My system was working fine this morning and I get in my car to go to the store before and my sub is totally off. Heres the weird part. The power light to my amp will not go off unless I take the fuse out. I checked all connections under the hood and with the sub and amp. I even took the sub out of the box to make sure everything was connected. I havent been able to get behind the dash yet because it's dark out but I will tomorrow. All 4 speakers in the car and the tweeters are working fine as well as the HU. Any suggestions???

You can take a Voltmeter and check if the turn on lead is properly turning it on and off when you turn you HU on and off. You should get to the back and check if the turn on lead is connected to the right lead on the HU, not a constant line.

Yup, exactly. Check your remote wire.

I dont have a voltmeter and would have no idea how to use it. I have had this amp and HU for like two years and this has never happened before. I even had it in my 99 accord and it was fine and ever since I installed it my 7thgen it was fine untill today

Easy to way to check!! With the key out of the ignition the light on the amp remains on correct? Disconnect your remote wire from the amp and see if your light goes off. If it does, its your remote wire, if it doesn't reconnect it and then disconnect the power wire and see if it goes off. A friend of mine had an amp and for some reason the amp starting wigging on him and the remote wire would cause the light on the amp to stay on. There are only three wires so it should be fairly easy to locate the problem. Since the remote wire is merely opereates as a switch, I would be likely to blame it on the remote wire. If you don't know anything about 12V electronics, take it to a shop or ask someone who does. If you don't know what you are doing I wouldn't go messing with it to much.

Just got off the phone with an MTX tech. He had no idea what was wrong with it and all he wanted to do was sell me a new one. What an A$$. Well its working ok now so we'll see how long that lasts.

Sometimes when the Power light stays on, it is actually in protection mode and won't give power to your subs. I had this exact problem for a couple of months and when I rewired the speaker, I found it was shorting on a piece of metal under the seats. It may also be a short in the power, ground, or amp itself. Good luck.
