For those curious about converting CAI into SRI..
Here's a pic of my CAI after converting it to a SRI when the rain was real bad here..

It only takes about 5 mins, and you don't need anything extra to hook it up..just attach the filter onto the rubber piece that connects the 2 pipes far enough so that you can feel the pipe in the filter rubber thing and put a clamp on it.

sometimes i do it to see if theres any difference between the two. i also like changing the sound every now and then, kinda makes the CAI seem really, really loud if you havent heard it in a while

Yeah, I don't get it either... how often do you drive through 7-10" of water and either not see it first, or willing drive through it no matter what? Although the AEM is a little more open than the Injen which is shielded in the fenderwell, I have no intention of taking my Injen apart for the winter. It the bumper is there to push the snow out of the way (if it even gets that high, and the melting run off is even lower than the actual snow.

*shrug* a person I know got hydrolock because water splash on it.. (he even had a bypass valve)
but we all know that bypass valve only works if the filter is entirely submerged into the water...
everyone that I've heard got hydrolock got a certain amount of water splash on the filter.. they didn't drive through a deep puddle or anything... well, deep enough to get water splash on the filter though...
I duno, from what I know in taking only one year of physics in highschool, it makes more sense for it the only suck up water when the entire filter is submerged.... but then I got these people with blown motors. so *shrug*

Ok not to be q ***** or nothing but seriously whoever asked about changing your CAI to SRI had to have been on some sort of drug because its obvious on how to do it. Disconnect the pipes and clamp the filter onto the end of the shorter pipe!
As for the air bybass valve well I have almost gotten into fights with guys because I'm laughing at them because they bought the stupid thing. It doesn't do anything for an intake. It's not electronic and can detect some water on the filter because no water is going to come up. I can vouch for this because I have driven on a RAINY RAINY night in Des Moines, IA and I just dodged the puddles and kept the RPM's down is all and voila nothing happened to my car. As for the winter I probably will make my CAI into a SRI just so I'm not watching for water all the time but come on guys before you go posting something like CAI to SRI think about it and actually look at your intake!!! It's self explanatory!
