Looking through Member's Rides section it seems like most all of you are running magnaflows... Are they better than others or is it just that they were one of the first available for everyone to get?

usually a comment like that comes from a spoiled rich kid born with a silver spoon never having to lift a finger his whole life.
anyway, i got in on the Magnaflow group buy. I have always loved the nice deep tone, never ricey, and never loud sound that magnaflows produced on v6's and 4 bangers.

The b-pipe does hang low but it isn't a problem unless you lower your car. Which I did lower mine and it does scrape sometime on speed bumps. Also, I had to have the pipe connections welded because the u-bolts didn't provide a leak proof joint.
Anyhow, I think it looks great and I absolutely love the sound it emits. I have had it for about 6 months and everytime I hear it, I fall in love with the sound all over again. It's a very quiet exhaust relatively speaking. More of a sporty exhaust than a "hey look at me I am making a lot of noise" type of system.
The $300 price tag is just icing on the cake.

As hard as it is to squeeze horsepower out of a Civic, I am not going to be the idiot who shelled out a ton of money for similar performance; I could use that money more effectively elsewhere. I got it not only because it's cheap, but because a lot of people on here raved about it. If it was crap, I would've heard about it by now.

So how low are we talking before I would run into problems? I'm only considering 2 - 2.5" drop max (with a 16" wheel swap)

I agree, the TCS is the way to go for look and sound. Performance wise though, all the exhausts will probably perform just as well as the next.

Performance-wise, exhausts yield next to no gains on our cars. Actually many of them only rob low-end horsepower and torque. They are primarily for looks / sound. Don't kid yourselves. So if you like the look/sound of an exhaust, and it is a good price, nobody can really criticize you for it.

You know I've looked into a hi-flo cat in many different places, and just about everything I've read indicates that you aren't going to gain much flow over stock cat. (unless your stock cat is screwed up or clogged or something) And yes I did say flow not power. (I'm trying to be as realistic as possible)
I would love for someone to show me different... because I can't imagine its completely pointless...
