Fix It Ticket question...damn damn damn
ok today i gotta fix it ticket for modified exhaust...he told me to fix it and bring it to the court...
my question is that he warned me for lowered car, windshield banner, and clear headlights but did not write it down on the ticket...i was just ticketed for modified exhaust...do i have to take everything out and make it look stock or do i just fix the modified exhaust and thats it?? and does anyone know how much a fix it ticket is in california...thank you
he also said sure your car looked b*tchin' but when you get tickets for it...its even more b*tchin'....i started laughing...hahahah

your car can be lowered just as long as your headlight/tail light are a certain distant from the ground... windsheild banner, you could have one just as long as its only 4 inches max from the top, cleared headlights he cant do anything just as long as you have white(not hyperwhite) or amber turn signals... as for the exhaust what was wrong with the exhaust?
here's the vehicle code book but ya i would think all you have to do is swap out your exhaust. i think its only like $12 for the ticket

in CT i beleive the banner law is nothing 4 inches from the top of the glass; this includes tint, and applies to the bottom as well. i would just tell the judge loud pipes save lives. they got them on bikes.
the other stuff was just a warning. im sure if the cop knew of the infraction number he could give you a ticket in the future. i have the whole DOT CT motor vehicle code book. its really thick....but ride height and everything is listed in it and everything has an infraction number. it sux....but thats why they drastically change car when they come to the US from over seas.
Yeah, your looking at 10 bucks after you get it signed off and show it to the court. Before you fix it. Go to a police station and tell them you got a ticket for that and say you fixed it. They are usually too lazy or busy to really go out of their chair and check. So he might just sign it off.

Steph is right, they have to measure the sound level to be able to write you up for it. The fix it is only $10. Get it signed off by any cop and take it to the court. As far as the banner I know you can tint 18" measured from the top of your windshield (center) down. As far as I know it can be painted black so why would a banner matter?

If I remember correctly, Cali is insane about there windshield /tint laws. You are not supposed to have any tint on the front windshield (even a banner tint which I would assume would count for banners as well) and none on the front windows. But yeah like everyone said, they should measure the exhaust in order to ticket you for it.

I just searched the CVC and found nothing to support my claim. The only thing I found was this:
Here is the link
CVC Section 26708
Hope that helps.

Banner laws vary from state to state. In California, the only place you can stick anything on the windshield is in the 6"x6" square in the lower corner furthest from the driver.
I can't fully remmber the dimensions of the square, I think it was 6". I'll look up the law if I get bored enough tonight.
You only have a responsibilty to fix what you were actually cited for. Here's a hint though: Required proof that it is fixed is a sig and a badge number on your copy of the citation. If you know a friend that is a Law Enforcement Officer, he can sign it off for you without you touching your car.
