preamp out <==> RCA in?
hey - im looking to get a new HU. and also one of those under seat powered woofers ... (i.e. kenwood ksc-wa62rc).
the woofer says it can take rca and speaker level input. what do i need on my headunit to be able to send a signal to this thing? most of the HU i see say something like "preamp level output" or "rear preamp output" some even say "subwoofer preamp output" . im not looking to spend a lot on the HU, and since the woofer is powered i dont need an amp.

Clarion I very muc like...appearance wise..their kinda ugly..but great sound in general.. very reliable.. minimal skipping with the high end HU's. (high sensitivity optics skip easier) The lower end units just don;t skip..
As far as Kenwood.. For an Amplified sub I'd either go with a Bazooka, or Infinity Basskink ($$$) Both are much better sounding..
Cheers

well i kinda need my trunk space so i wanted to get an under seat model - and the only one that crutchfield had was the model in my first post. the second post is actually a kenwood HU. im looking to buy both (1) the kenwood sub (unless u can recommend a better sub that wont take up needed space) and (2) a HU with preamp outputs and mp3 playback and blue lighting
which would you recommend of the following (under $300) mp3 CD players

There's no under seat model that will work with our cars because of the crossmember under the seat and the vents. It won't fit.. also a Bazooka tube don't take much room at all. Nor does the Basslink..

i usually dont shop there cuz i know their prices are way high. I just go there to look for models cuz they got lots of info and lotsa brands. Once I pick a model, I go somewhere else to actually buy.

Guess what I saw the other day at CarTunes, here in Chattanooga?
One of those spare tire subs that Pioneer makes/made. If you're looking to save space, this "could" be an option (err..maybe not
), although I doubt it'd sound very good compared to even a good 8" sub. I think they have a 6" speaker inside.
I agree with mohawkboom, I'd go with something like the Bazooka tubes or a Basslink. One of the uber-knowledgeable peeps at circuit city </sarcasm> told me once that the Basslink didn't sound as good as a good 10" with a good box. Best thing is to go to your favorite audio shop and listen to them.
