woah, that must've been wierd. Did you have any hood pins on? Hopefully the warranty will cover it. Stuff like that shouldn't just fall apart, especially because of how much they cost.

OMG---that's crazy. It should be under warranty cause that's just faulty craftsmanship. Please let me know how everything turns out. I'm guessing there were no indications that there was going to be a problem. BTW, DGM hoods aren't supposed to have to use hood locks/pins, that's one of their major selling points. And hood locks/pins aren't for show either, except the stick on ones j/k. Some hood latches on certain cf hoods are just fiberglassed on, meaning they can tear off at high speeds.
DG's hoods have riveted latches which should solve that problem, but doesn't help if the actual cf comes flying off the car. Again, please let me know how everything goes.
peace~

Heh heh, that reminds me of Tommy Boy. That movie rules. You didn't by any chance leave the oil can in did you? Just kidding man.
Yeah I'd have thought those hoods would be a lot more reliable, with how much they cost. Plus that's really frickin dangerous. Anyways hope you get it worked out man ..
Cheers!
DGM hoods are installed with a stock hood bracket that is already bondeed and riveted. Therefore, hood pins are not necessary, but can be used with our hoods as an extra safety precatuion
Thats f***ed up...the same thing happened to my friend's hatch but there was too much traffic out here in LA to just go back and pick it up ...his hood got ran over..he eventually was refunded though...so hope the warranty holds up.
HAHAHAHAHA.. sorry man. but that's funny shiet.. i'm sorry about the hood..hopefully it'll get replaced since they state that hood pins aren't necessary, and well. .i guess you proved them wrong...
lol.. if i was driving next to any car and all of a sudden their hood, or half the hood in this case, comes flying off.. i'd prolly get into an accident from laughing so hard.. lol..

Whoa! So the top of the hood flew off? Sounds like the DG Motorsports CF hood sucks! I'm glad I got the Fiber Images. I went 115+ with that CF hood before I had my hood pins and I had no problems. I wouldn't get another one if I were you. Get your money back and get a Fiber Images.
