ride comfort with bigger rims???
Im riding on my stock rims right now and the ride seems pretty smooth and comfortable, but they look so small. sometimes i drive my brothers BMW 325i with 18" rims on it and it seems that i feel every bump and the steering wheel would jerk to one side when i go over a bump or pothole. also the steering wheel on his car seems to wiggle slightly left and right even while going on a straight road. my 2k1 with stock rims never seem to jerk while going over the same road. so is it just his car thats doing that and needs to be fixed or does it feel like that on any car with bigger rims?

do they all get to be as bad as i felt in it? when going over slightly big bumps or whatsoever the steering wheel jerks to one side alot and almost turns the car into the next lane! also when driving straight in his car the steering wheel constantly shakes left and ride!

im running 18's with 215/35/18 tires. im droped an 1-3/4" and i think the ride is fine. its stiffer then stock yes but i like it.
You feel the bumps more with larger wheels, but in 17" on our cars with a 45 profile tire still allows a ride almost as smooth as stock, along with the handling advantages. Roadnoise, however, is a bit louder as well.

alignment issues, definetely, or i heard of the control arms being bent causes that alot... Hit a Semi tire tread in the road befOre?? Well it bent my dads in his 01 celica, experienced same problems/
The bigger the rim and smaller the sidewall yep the worse the ride I am thinking of going with a 17" sometime but definately 215/45 with the 17" all around I think 17" is your best buy for ride and comfort to stock

I have 215/45/17 Yokohoma Avid H4, and the ride quality has gotten better (no BS or figmint of my imagination). I've been into a friend's car, with same rims but different tires (no name) and the ride was rougher than stock. It all depends on which tires..
Generally speaking, going upsize will hurt your ride. But since the stock Firestones are really krappy, it's not hard to find plushier tires, even at 17in size.
