Rep Power: 0 My carbon fiber trunk.
I ordered a carbon fiber trunk from fiber images. The lady said a week or two, come to find out that it takes 5-7 weeks because they make them as they order them. That sux *** man. Oh well, I guess I will just have to wait even longer.
If you are wondering I can get them for $650.00 shipped to your door. They look bad as he11. Call them and they will send you a booklet on their products.
I am getting the carbon fiber front end as well, but it takes 7-9 weeks.

Rep Power: 0 dude, i really DONT think useing the flip flop trunk would be the best idea for your carbon, my shop works with it a lot and if your haveing that much stress on so little of an area of carbon it very well could start to delaminate and start to crack. thats why carbon isnt used for load bearing parts. maybe it will be fine, but it all depends on how many layers of carbon that the company is useing. just becareful and dont NEVER slam your trunk

Rep Power: 337 Carbon Fiber is very resistable, there have been cars in accidents where the car rolls and the carbon fiber is still in tact, some minor scratches.

Rep Power: 0 i was wondering if they would make one without a keyhole, just cause.
also tho -
#1 what is the purpose of a cf trunk?
i understand the hood, less heat, and i guess the weight would be less for both, but why so much $$$ on a trunk?
#2 it seems, in my head anyways, that a car would look strange if it had just the cf trunk and not the hood, except maybe a black car
dont mind me im just babbling

Rep Power: 0 I understand if some people don't like carbon fiber. It dosn't make me think any different of you or get mad at you because of it. No hard feelings at all. Everyone has there own opinions. I have a carbon fiber hood already and I have a custom paint job on my car, I think it looks awsome but then again everyone has there own opinions like I said before. Will have pics up soon.

Rep Power: 0 Carbon Fiber looks good, but it can be over done. IMO...the CF TRUNK is a little too much. a hood is cool, the front fenders is pushin it... but damn, a CF trunk lid? come on, theres gotta be some limit to how much should be used on a car. maybe if it was a RALLY car or somethin, but for a street civic? hahaha, your money, your choice. im just waitin for some to put their elbow through that thing! and oh yah, im with BOOST... yes, CF products by FIBER IMAGES are usually rather strong/sturdy, but i wouldnt put too much faith into being able to use a flip-flop trunk with that lid. that lid will eventually break down, and im guessin that if it doesnt fall off the hinges in the first 6 months due to wear, it will prolly crack from you having to push your trunk closed everytime. but hey, i guess you're the next guinea pig... so g'luck!

Rep Power: 0 I first thought the idea of a CF Trunk lid was kinda weird too, but then I saw this blue WRX parked in my neighborhood and it had a CF hood and trunk lid, and I have to say, that ish looked pretty hot! I always wondered how it would look on our cars, but unfortunately for me...they dun like to make things for sedans. =(

Rep Power: 0 Yes, I am running subs. It won't be in the trunk though. I am getting a custom back seat. 2 15 inch eclipse subs will be in place of my back seat so it actually isn't in the trunk. I might not though so it depends. I will have pics up later on.
