steering wheel VIBRATING AT 60mph after put on new 17" wheels

Hi,

I just mount/ balance and put on my new 17" wheels on a local car shop. The wheels look nice but they vibrate like hell when I hit 60 mph.... i can feel it from my steering wheels.......

The guy in the shop said I need something called "hub/ center rings"
do u know what is this?

And does anyone know if the wheels need to be balanced or aligned?

THANKS

You may need an aligment or hub centering rings, they are inserts that go in between the hub and wheel to fill the space and eliminate movement....

You need to have your tires balanced. Also, check to see that if you have a directional tread, that it is rotating in the right direction. But, def a balance.

Centering rings my friend. They snap inside your wheel opening to assure a smooth fitment to your hub. The place you got your wheels from should have included them. I am sure streetrendz carries them. I know they are included in most tire/wheel deals from tirerack.com.

I'm with familyman...you need to balance your tires...they're unbalnced...that's why they do that at 60mph ...

Yeah did you buy these tires through the internet and have them delivered or get them through a shop?

When I ordered my rims online they were already supposed to be balanced.......After putting them on & taking it on the freeway, the steering wheel started shaking like helll, I had to take it to the local tire store and get them rebalanced.....No more vibrations............Go take them to get rebalanced.....

Nick
I paid $25 at my local American Tires Co......$25 includes lifetime mounting, rotation, and balancing for the tires life.........Then I paid $9 each tire to warranty them if I pop them by running over a nail or hitting a curb.....

I have re-balanced all 4 wheels and put on 2 centering rings yesterday. The shop put some weight on my wheels. It does minimize the vibration; however, I can still feel the vibration when I hit 70mph. Moreover, my steering wheel just can't go straight sometimes.......pull to the right.....

Does anyone know do I need 2 more hub centering rings for the rear? or do i need a wheel alignment?

Since my tire is a directional tire, will the direction of rotation matter?

THANKS

If you have directional tires make SURE the allignment arrows are facing the correct direction.

That WILL definatly cause a problem!!!
