Procedure for shaving door handles?
When you shave a cars door handles what is more involved...metal shaping or bondo/fiberglass? Just curious. O and where can you find the automatic door openers?
well it involves taking out your door handle assemblies completely then they weld a piece of metal from the inside sand it down and shape it out smooth with plastic filler, prime and paint, the door poppers relays and solenoids can be installed in any audio shop and the work can be done at most custom paint shops

yup, just take out the door handle, weld it(some cheap places just fiberglass and bondo tho), fiberglass it, bondo, sand, paint.... as for the actual door poppers, Auto Loc makes one of the best ones... probably would pass with a 35lb solenoid but 50lb is better... the solenoid pulls on the cable that releases the latch. you could hook up the solenoid to your alarm using a relay. or if you dont have an alarm or extra channels there are a couple of other ways...
i have mine done. u can check it out on members ride to see how nice of a job the shop did on mine. as for the poppers, our doors are soo lite u can get away with using trunk poppers if ud like. otherwise buy the kit from AUTOLOC, its a bit better and less of a hassle to install. make sure u have a shop do it... or u better know wut ur doin. and deffinitely shop around, cuz not always the cheapest or most expensive place to go is the best... look at quality of work!

blue, how much was it to get it installed? places here charge $100 a door to shave it(doesn't include paint) and $100 for each popper with install. so that would make it 200 a door... just wondering how much you got yours done for.
yea, my friend did this on his '98 Acura CL. it looked grreally good. but really expensive. i believe he paid around $600 for all the parts and labor. but this was in NJ and prices range across the states so i dont know what it would be for you. He just took it to the local auto body shop which happens to do custom work.
cl is 2 dr. shaving the handles well my idea (which i did on my lude) mold the handle and reshape it its simple doesnt require u to get poppers just a keyless entry (if u shave the lock holes). U take the handle off and mold it with different epoxys and smooth out and paint i got it done for cheap but i have the hook up with body work. Def saves money when u dont need to buy 300 poppers and have em installed.
