-=PICS=- Modified Neuspeed Sport (55.20.61) on coupe
This is what my Neuspeed Sports look like after I cut exactly one coil off of the each rear spring. I had the sedan model (55.20.61) which was the only model avail when i bought them but have modified them as per Neuspeed tech advice to fit on a coupe.

The coil took like 2 minutes to cut. I used a dremel with heavy duty cut off wheel. I'm sure a hacksaw with metal blade could do it also, the metal is not that tough.

i would never cut springs cause your rates are no longer consistent.
your back end will start to sag if you carry any car audio.

According to Neuspeed it doesn't affect my spring rate (they sugguested I do this) and it rides just the same. I don't expect the rear to sag but I guess only time will tell which lowering springs are good or not.
I did this 'cause coupe springs are out of stock and are essentially a cut sedan spring. I couldn't get the neuspeed guy to say this but he sure as hell sugguested it.

i have neuspeed sedan sport on my car too and my drop looks like that. thats because i have a wings west body kit and the extra weight of the kit drops the rear lower.

Decamo... do you have anything in the trunk to make it lower? I think I'll cut mine before I put them on but it seems a little lower than I want. Also, is it possible to cut half or 3/4's of a coil off and still have a good ride? I'd like to have about 1 1/2-2 finger lengths in the back (cut) and 1 in the front (uncut)

i'm not sure but the front for me was like a 1 1/2 finger gap. how big was yours decamo?
n yes you could cut 3/4 coils or half. i'm pretty sure you could cut 2 or even 3 if you wanted to. if you want to do this i could check for you.

Yes that would be great if you could ask someone else to see if cutting 1/2 of one is okay. I don't want to worry about being too close in the rear with my sub box and passengers, but uncut its pretty high I decided.

Mine is 1 1/2 finger gap. Theres still a gap and its not slammed at all. The close up pics make it look really low but it doesn't really seem that way. I think the drop is perfect.
As for cutting 1/2 a coil i don't think the spring would seat properly in the shock. I don't know though 'cause havent tried.
Note that I am on 185/65/15 stock 15" tires. It seems most ppl upgrade to 205/40/17 which is slightly smaller in diameter. Having 205/40 will 'cause a slightly bigger gap.
The proper size to use is 215/45/17 if you want to maintain the same overall size and have the same drop as on stock rims. The advantage to going with 205/40 is slightly faster acceleration but your speedo is off and theres a bigger gap in the wheel wells.
Hope this makes sense.

sorry i meant that i'll find out if you could cut 2-3 coils or not... i'm 90% sure cutting 1/2 wont effect anything because from what i remember, the bottom perch has a groove for the end of the spring so it only sits one way, but the top mount doesn't have one(a groove) so it could sit any way...
n yes smaller tire means a bigger gap but a lower car... bigger tires means smaller gap but a high car... usually not by much tho.

ya i have the neuspeed sports. have the coupe springs on my coupe.. its about a 1 1/2 finger gap on all sides. for me personally its not low enough... i was hoping for no gap or 1/2 finger gap atleast but i didn't, i think the neuspeed race would have been perfect for me. but ya i've always said, if your getting a kit sports should be fine, but if not, i would recommend race. the 1/2" drop would make a big difference, look wise. i've heard complaints that the ride wasn't too good tho since they're race springs but i doubt they're that badd because neuspeed probably had the people with stock shocks in mind.
if i can imma try to cut a coil or two from each spring, but then that would mean i have to take apart my struts so not sure if i'm up for it...
