grandma's 2000 civic lx 41k miles maintenance help needed
Howdy All,
I am new here so pls forgive if this is not the right place to post.
I just got my grandma's original purchase 2000 civic 4 dr lx with 41k miles on on it for $1000. It was fully garage kept in ohio since day1, and taken well cared of (all work done at the dealership):
2000 may 12 2018 oil change
2001 aug 29 5658 oil change
2001 dec 31 6600 oil change
2002 mar 2 7687 oil change
2003 may 19 10036 oil and coolant change
2004 aug 3 12680 oil change
2005 jun 9 14503 15k service, oil change
2006 jul 6 16714 oil change
2007 apr 11 18099 oil change, replace o2 sensor
2007 oct 4 18929 replace coolant
2009 jun 19 new battery
2009 jun 22 22022 oil change
2010 jun 10 23838 oil change
2010 sep 14 24231 new muffler
2011 jun 15 25518 oil change
2012 feb 8 26625 new tires
2013 apr 13 28553 oil change
2014 jun 10 30549 30k service- spark plugs, air filter, fuel tune up, oil change, flush brakes,
2017 aug 23 35572 oil change
(she passed, grandpa assumed car and rarely drove it)
2022 mar 30 39214 oil change, coolant change, powersterring fluid change, brake fluid flush, auto tranny service, cabin and engine air filter, oil change
2022 Dec 22 39800 new battery
I share this because i am trying to
1 - replace engine, power steering, brakes, and tranny fluids and filters. its old but low mileage so not sure what to do. specific brands and products pls!
2 - figure out what work to do on it
a - planning to replace the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump due to age even though miles are low. agree?
b - new valve cover gasket as has super small leak
c - should I flush the tranny, or just drain and refill?
Thx
Doug

Use honda steering fluid, and ideally trans fluid as well.
yes do the timing belt and water pump.
And 3x drain and fill on the trans is the correct way to service it
