Low mileage oil change frequency

Hi there. I have a 2010 Civic. It doesn't get much mileage so the maintenance minder says 70% oil life even though it's been over 8 months since the last oil change. Should I just trust the maintenance minder? Shouldn't I be changing the oil after a certain amount of time even if not many miles?

Thanks

Should be something in the owners manual that says after x amount of time change the oil

If it's got synthetic in it I would do it yearly if you are driving under 10k miles a year.

It has a conventional/synthetic blend currently. Does that change your advice? Thanks for the reply.

You'll be fine. I ran 10k miles oil change in my Fit using Honda Semi Synthetic oil without issues.

I think the owners manual recommends a year if you don't hit the mileage mark.
