2002 Civic SI - Front suspension

Is it possible in the 2002 Civic SI to replace the lower ball joints without removing the knuckles from the car?
Thanks

Yes, but why? You still have to remove the axle. You're then forced to use one of those large C clamp things instead of a shop press.

Thanks for your reply. I realize that the axle still needs to be removed to make room for the C Clamp, but is better than having to remove also the knuckle.

It's not that much more work to remove the knuckle. Remove the caliper (without opening the brake system), remove the WSS (or unplug/unbolt from the chassis and bring it along), remove the two bolts holding the knuckle to the strut.

Less likely to mess up the alignment leaving the knuckle in but easier to replace the ball joint with the knuckle out. Pick your poison.

Thanks for your clarification. I understand the trade-off between the two options.
