Bolt In Kit

Read through the faq section and it was pretty dated. Does anyone make a true bolt on Kit that doesn't need re fabrication? Thanks

Come checkout my build thread. chozobody's Old Farts club - Honda Civic Forum (civicforums.com)

As far as true "bolt in", the kits on ebay are all the same, since the D-series share an exhaust manifold flange. That being said, your stock intake manifold will limit you due to it being plastic, and you will have to do some sort of fabrication to make it all "fit" short of running without a hood or a bumper. Now, nobody makes a kit that comes with a downpipe that's bolt-in, so find someone who can assist with fabrication.

To turbo a D17 is not as simple as it may be for other Civics.

Right on bro, I will check out your build. I'm a pipefitter so welding isn't an issue. I was mainly looking for something I could do in a weekend that wasn't junk hut also not $3k lol, if it existed. I'm not opposed to piecing a kit together if someone had a good list. I'm looking to run 8-10 lbs and a modest 225ish hp.

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

Just understand your limitations going into, and don't expect a lot. I would also caution doing a turbo without some sort of engine management. The "standard" is KPro for the D17.

I would absolutely go with the kpro unit. Would also go ahead and step up the injectors to 500ish and a better fuel pump.

Fuel pump upgrades can be done, but you won't see an increase in pressure without a regulator, and a return fuel system. The regulator is built into the pump assembly on these cars. They can be modified to accept a return line, but then you also have to do the work from the fuel rail, back.

I believe a stock "upgrade" injector is from a similar year Acura RDX. Otherwise, your stock pump might not flow enough for 500's. I think stock we are 240s.

What would you suggest for a modest gain while being reasonable? I already own the car so no swaps.

Re: Bolt In Kit

I don't think your 200-225 (at the motor) is unreasonable.

Anything beyond that and you're in "Work" territory.

Run the stock fuel pump, switch to either RSX or RDX injectors, have a good tuner set you up on kpro, and then enjoy it.

Right on, are any of the ebay or k series website kits better than others? Is keeping the AC and option?

All the turbo kits come from the same shipping container from mainland China. Find your best value.

You might be able to keep AC, but you won't know until everything starts bolting together. For me, it was easier to just delete for the sake of space.

Right on, I figured as much. Rev9 wants $1k for the same looking kit ebay has for $600. In the end they are all Wuhan war whistles 😂

If this is your daily driver, don't expect to finish it up over a weekend.
