Replacing the exhaust donut bellow the manifold (hatch 2.0L)
Good morning from Winnipeg Canada
Own a 2003 civic Sir 2.0. Hatch
Had some noise form the exhaust system found the leak with soap and water trick
removed the old donut and attempted to put in the new
Question is the recommended donut in the picture bellow. How tight of a fit is it normally? Do I have to hammer it on? It appears to be small because I'm damaging the inside as I'm trying to rotate / push / the donut on.
Lookong for advice on this
Car history owned it for 1 year before that 7 years my brother sat in his driveway untouched before that no clue The old donut. I had to remove it with a hammer and chizel normal? This is where the leak was The recommended donut from part source and piston ring
Re: Replacing the exhaust donut bellow the manifold (hatch 2.0L)
did you get the part for the 1.7 L engine or the 2.0 engine? Common mistake, hatch cars have lots of parts that are not common to other civics of this generation.
That seal is made to a tight fit, it deforms to seal better, BTW

I specified thr 2.0 engine. I'll put it in the Jack stand today see if I can deform it into place. Thanks
