Question 2003 D17A2 / BMXA Removal from top

2003 Civic Ex SRS 2door coupe with D17A2 and BMXA automatic.
Can the motor and tranny be pulled from the top as a single unit or is it better to separate in advance?
I’m planning on removing radiator and a/c condenser, and ABS motor in advance..
Thanks,
Dp in Wentzville, MO

You can remove from the top as a unit. Definitely remove the rad. Should be able to leave the condenser and compressor in, just move the compressor out of the way so you don't have to evacuate the system. Might be able to maneuver the abs out of the way as well.

Thanks for response.
I’ll probably take this opportunity to replace the brake lines while motor is out; all those bends are a nightmare.
All the Best

Why? Are they rusted out? I'd leave them alone if nothing's wrong with them.

definitely doable out of the top, even without removing the radiator. Removing the rad def gives you lots of wiggle room though

They have seen better days for sure. A couple were spliced as a fix from rock/gravel punctures.
