It’s sticky at hiway speeds in the 12 o’clock position. Then it “ breaks free “ causing oversteer . My google searches indicates this is a problem with my year civic . Can you give me advice ?

Re: Eps rack recommendation

Take it back to the dealer if it's still under warranty.

even if out of warranty, I would take to dealer to hear what they say

Do mention this to them when you get there, before they say they need to diagnose. Maybe have one case to show them

Re: Eps rack recommendation

I am having the same issue. Especially at a higher speed. Freeway driving. I did take mine to the dealership and it’s the EPS rack. Why is this not a recall??? How is your steering wheel sticking not considered a danger to someone??? With research a 2017 has a recall but not a 2016. Dealership quotes me $3600. 🤮 I can’t really get a answer to how long can I drive like this. How long has this been a issue for others?

Re: Eps rack recommendation

This is actually my daughters car and has caused oversteer on several occasions . She doesn’t drive on highway anymore . I’ve found several new ones for around 1100. I’m going to put it on myself . There’s a YouTube video of How to do it . Screw the dealership and Honda !

Re: Eps rack recommendation

I’ve have found a shop that’s specializes in imports. He will do it for me. He’s charging $1800. Which is way better than $3600. I am just curious to how long I can go without replacing it? Since your doing it yourself does it have to be reprogrammed?
