Can you shift the civic like a manual transmission on an automatic transmission with the gears 1 2 D3 and D4 but without a clutch while driving or will this damage the transmission

Re: 93' gear shifting
not sure, I leave the computer control it on my only auto trans car. Computer is smarter than me (except in extreme conditions that require visual confirmation)
The only car with auto trans I have is for daily commute (much easier for stop-go traffic, last thing i want to do is shift it myself). No allures in shifting an auto trans by myself.

Mind you, most of the techniques involved in shifting a manual trans involves the clutch.
Shifter techniques are also absent in auto trans.
Nothing really to be gained by manually shifting an auto trans other than extreme conditions.
