Grinding Noise After Strut Assembly Install [solved]

After replacing the strut assembly in my 2003 Honda Civic lx it makes a grinding noise from the driver-side every time the wheel revolves. I figured it was the dust shield, because the passenger side didn't have a dust shield and doesn't make a noise. Also I kinda crunched it when I jacked up the suspension to put in the pinch bolts. The shield was rusted to all hell so I tore it off with vice grips, but the noise is the same. Any ideas?

Keep looking, if it won't make the noise with the suspension at full droop you're going to have to load up the suspension to find the noise

There could still be a piece of the dust shield rubbing the rotor.

Did you ever find a solution to this? Or did it go away naturally? I just replaced my struts with Coilovers and a similar issue is happening on my 02'.

yes, the alignment was out so bad the outer tie rod was rubbing against the tire. it made a noise once per rotation and was way worse turning one way than the other way. definitely don't wait for it to go away, check the inside of ur tire asap
