87 Civic dies when warmed up. Won't start until significantly cooled down.

87 Civic dies when warmed up. Won't start until significantly cooled down.
87 Civic DX starts right up. Idles high, then after 6-7 minutes running, it dies and won't start for 45 minutes. Just got the car so I haven't had any time to really scrutinize the behaviors. Where do I start checking? Thanks.
